Weekly Roundup: September 30

Welcome back! This week has certainly been a wild one - we were supposed to write this yesterday, but with everything going on we forgot! Character assassinations, political schemings, and the closing of the exit ports, oh my!

Pirates at Grimwood

This week, pirates attacked the Barony of Grimwood, claiming to be searching for something here in Kara –though exactly what they were searching for remains unknown. Guards and battle-ready folks travelled from across Kara to defend Grimwood, driving back the pirates after only a few minutes of fighting. Great job, everyone! Now to figure out what the pirates were looking for.

The Fate of Parliament

On Friday evening, the Prismarine Court convened in the Citadel to determine the fate of Parliament. After updates from Sir Hixan and petitions to the Throne, each member of the court publicly announced their vote and reason for doing so. The question (to suspend or continue the current Parliamentary system) was answered nearly unanimously: the Parliament will be suspended until a new system can be designed and implemented.

Additionally, a new and final knight was added to the ranks of the Most Noble Order of the Bay: Sir Hazel Umber. A character who began as a troublemaker and a “thorn in His Majesty’s side” has now been knighted in the highest order of the Kingdom of Stone Bay for their acts of service and dedication to Kara.

The Death of Eargus Glowgoarge

After hundreds of years exploring Olvunter, Eargus Glowgoarge decided to retire. Tarvisa Ebernet invited all of Kara to a “Going Away Party” to say goodbye to Glowgoarge. However, at the party, Glowgoarge pulled a sword on Ebernet, claiming that Ebernet was a spy. Ebernet then drew a dagger, stabbed Glowgoarge, and fled. Glowgoarge later died, while Ebernet remains missing: the King has ordered all ships to remain in Kara to prevent Ebernet from fleeing.

This certainly ramps up tensions between DEW, the Figh, and Kara. As the season draws ever nearer to a close, the question remains: what side will Kara choose, if any?

Goodbye, Trains – Hello, Horses!

As we all know, Valence’s medievalisation efforts have included the removal of trains: say goodbye to the final few stations at the end of the month and hello to horses! Gretchen the NPC on the docks of Stone Bay gives out free summonable donkeys to newcomers, and Hutch Bramble sells maximum speed summonable mounts as well as slower battle mounts at the Stone Bay docks. Now that the trains are gone, we have plenty of roads leading to the towns across Kara –we’ll see you on the roads!

Duck and Cover

Habagat Punongpuso invited Karans to discuss recent events at the Stone Bay tree, asking Karans why there was so much suspicion surrounding her colleagues. After a tense conversation, Punongpuso appeared to grow more and more distressed at Kara’s refusal to choose. Soon after, Punongpuso was shot and killed by a cloaked assassin –though they awoke on their boat moments later. Who was the assassin - what was their goal? And who hired them? That remains to be seen.

Recalled Items Updates

As we’re sure you all know, item confiscations of recalled items are in full swing. To help our Support Team confiscate items, the models and textures of recalled items have been removed. If you find an item that has yet to be confiscated, including one of the recently-confiscatable items, feel free to Open a Ticket to have Support Team swing by and delete it, or simply /trash the item or throw it into lava. Keeping old and unbalanced items is not an option.

Rumors & Whispers

There were some fun rumors this week, so we’ll highlight a few that caught our eye (just in case you missed them!). As usual, just DM the Rumors & Whispers bot to submit a rumor.

Rumor has it that people were seen entering the oddities store with plenty of food in tow. A camel is eating GOOD.

Rumor has it, the Shepard has made landing in Kara.

Rumor has it a Cirallian mayor has kicked the bucket, will anyone miss him? Who’s to say.

Wrapping Up

That’s all for this week, folks! See you all server-side.
