Welcome back! There has been a lot this past week.

Celebrating Three Years

This year’s Stone Bay Day weekend has been full of events, tournaments, and plenty of things to do! For those of you who are new around here and are wondering “What on earth is Stone Bay Day and why is there an entire weekend dedicated to it,” we have an answer for you! Stone Bay Day celebrates the opening of the server (in character, we say the “opening of the ports”), and therefore celebrating the players who have joined us! This year, Stone Bay Day weekend was complete with a Dodgebolt tournament (congratulations to the Duchy of Norbrook’s Bumberbees), a Contest of Arms (congratulations to Rex Nihlium), and an invite-only Stone Bay Day ball. The Contest of Arms began with a hilarious round of the Bumble Rumble: shoutout to Bumblesnort for going head to head with twenty competitors and surviving.

Spirit Week

Stone Bay Day weekend couldn’t be complete without a server-wide Spirit Week! Characters from all across Kara dressed up for each of the themed days. Spirit Week began on the 16th with Pajama Day, then Twin Day, Pink Day, Throwback Thursday, Dress like your Leader Day, Stone Bay Colors Day, and ended today with Dress like Your Hero Day. We’ve loved seeing your screenshots and outfits – stay tuned for the next Stone Bay Town Hall to find out who has won the first Karan Spirit Award! (Hint: It’s someone who has participated a ton this past week, and they massively deserve it for all their effort!)

It’s Census Time Again

It’s been three months once again, folks! Time to fill out your tri-monthly Census. This data goes to help us draw out Parliamentary Ridings, figure out taxes, and make a ton of cool graphs (Cornelia Teryn-core!).

Spirit Week, tournaments, and a Grand Jury? My goodness, this week was packed. Eargus Glowgoarge and the Refraction Shard were the subject of a Grand Jury this week. If you’re curious about the Grand Jury (and the hilarious conversations about the meta and nuance of crystals versus shards that took place in it), check out the ValenceSMP Twitch for a recording of the stream.

Karan Explorer Society ventures into the Unknown

Today, select members of the Karan Explorer Society, led by Eargus Glowgoarge, will be venturing into a tomb discovered on a previous expedition. In his Board Posting, Glowgoarge detailed his chosen group, as well as the dangers they may face. What will they discover? Why does DEW want it? What will they fight below? We’ll find out later tonight!

Recalled Items Updates

As we’re sure you all know, item confiscations of recalled items are in full swing. To help our Support Team confiscate items, the models and textures of recalled items have been removed. If you find an item that has yet to be confiscated, feel free to Open a Ticket to have Support Team swing by and delete it, or simply /trash the item or throw it into lava. Keeping old and unbalanced items is not an option. There’s a second list of items on the recall list for the end of September, including the old Kamaria faction gear, the silk touch tools, and several other items found here. Make sure to make an appointment with DEW to sell your items before they disappear.
