Weekly Roundup: October 6

It has been quite the week. In case you missed it, we’re here to give you the rundown on what happened this week on Valence.

The Figh, a Spy, and a Court Case, oh my!

On Friday, Vulmar Dorlana called together a group of Karans to aid in the capture of Tarvisa Ebernet, a Dacian noble who had travelled to Kara on the Golden Future, DEW’s vessel. The group captured Ebernet and turned them over to the custody of the Constabulary. An emergency Prismarine Court was called, and it was determined thatSawyer Kingston would represent Ebernet during the trial. Ebernet and the Determiners struck a deal: Ebernet would plea guilty to all charges and pay a fine of 50,000 gold (a whopping 400,000 silver), and be transferred to the custody of the Determiners to ensure the completion of this transaction.

Court Part Two: Electric Boogaloo

Shortly after Ebernet’s trial, a second case was taken to court: an arraignment was held for Mayor Nimora Bloodwell on the charge of manslaughter, specifically negligent homicide. Much to the surprise of everyone involved (the prosecution, judge, and everyone in the courtroom), Bloodwell pled guilty to all charges. Claiming to be one-eighth responsible for the death of Eargus Glowgoarge, Bloodwell was ordered to pay one-eighth of the fee paid by Ebernet, totalling 50,000 silver.

Sailing Vessels blown Sky High

On Saturday night, the city was attacked by bandits and very angry chickens –in the chaos of the attack, several masked figures went onto the Golden Future and the Haring Kanluran, set fire to the deck, and blew holes into the ships, leading to Tarvisa Ebernet fleeing from authorities once more. Additionally, gold and valuables were stolen from the ships. After the attack, the city was placed on curfew until 8:00 the next morning, though it has now been lifted.

The Golden Future

What’s in the box? Facestealers?! Oh no, I opened the box.

On Sunday evening, the Figh and associated Karans travelled to the Aulauris temple north of the city. The Figh had a key to unlock what they believed was a weapon. Meanwhile, DEW and associated Karans travelled to stop them. After several minutes of threatening, insulting, and otherwise hurling verbal attacks at one another, the “key” was used. However, inside the locked vault was not the expected weapons or riches. Instead, the vault was filled with Face Stealer demons, which quickly poured out and began attacking Karans.

The groups returned to the city, where they were halted by the King, who demanded that DEW, the Figh, and their Karan allies help fix “the mess they’d made” by unleashing the Face Stealers upon Kara. The Face Stealers have begun mimicking Karans, using their voices and faces. Beware: your friends may not be who they seem!

A National Emergency was declared by the King, and Karans were advised to exercise caution.
