Hello Valence! Kayse here, once again.

One thing that is expected out of a medieval roleplay server is the presence of an aritsocratic group. Nobles, knights, you name it- we have them all. While Kara's laws and rules are written down, the rules about interacting and communicating in an aristocratic way are typically unknown. In an attempt to remedy this lack of knowledge, I've written and made a document that outlines everything from etiquette to how to write letters. The Royal Prescription.

A lot of people of Valence have a goal of achieving something big, becoming someone- and all of the ways to go about that are assisted heavily by following this document. The Royal Prescription goes over the many important things that should be followed by those that wish to be successful. It acts as a guide and standard for one's behavior and etiquette.

The Royal Prescription is an 18 page google document that has five chapters:

  1. Introduction
    • This chapter explains the importance of the Royal Prescription, and the history behind the revitalization of the document.
  2. The Aristocracy
    • This chapter includes everyone who is within the aristocracy, their jobs, manners of address (aka a "style"), and any other relavent information.
  3. Conduct & Etiquette
    • A bit self explanatory, this chapter goes over primary the etiquette and conduct one should use in their day-to-day. This chapter also holds detailed information on how to write letters, as well as the list of post-nominal lettering that one might see in letters or on Board posts.
  4. The Church
    • This chapter details the role of the Church of the Deep within the Kingdom, and its importance to our systems.
  5. Noble Households
    • The final chapter in the Prescription, this goes over the ideal structure of a noble household, and what employment opportunities they should provide.

As well as the google document, there are physical books on the server that provide a shortened version of the Prescription. These can be found at the Customs House within the City of Stone Bay. If there are none, you can always ask in the general chat on Discord or global chat (/g) on the server to see if anyone can give you one!

The Customs House, previously known as the Welcome Center.

This document is my favourite one that I've ever made, and I am very proud of it. I wrote it in about a weeks worth of time, and finally published it on August 30th, 2024. I hope you all find it helpful!

Love, Kayse
